Garden Catalogs Worth Checking Out

Burpee Seeds of Pennsylvania is one of the best known home garden catalogs, with a good assortment of vegetable and flower seeds.

Flowers come first at Park Seed of South Carolina, followed by vegetable seeds. Still, they have a wide array of vegetables to choose from.

Probably the most extensive vegetable seed catalog available is Harris Seeds. Flowers are included, too. This is a great source for giant pumpkin seeds!

Based in Santa Fe New Mexico, Seeds of Change specializes in 100% certified organic seeds.

The Sapp family of Florida has a catalog that should be part of every tomato and pepper aficianado's bookshelf. The Tomato Growers Supply Company is one of the best sources for tomato and pepper seeds!

Formerly owned by Renee Shepherd, the Connecticut based company that now owns Shepherd's Garden Seeds also has a mix of hard to find seeds, bulbs and plants.

Johnny's, a Maine-based source for seeds, also features the current weather for Albion, Maine on their website. It's enough to make Californians shiver to look at it in the winter!

Gurney's Seeds has been supplying farmers and gardeners for over a century, from South Dakota. They were the only outfit where I could find a popcorn kernel remover.

Closely allied with Gurney's Seeds, Henry Field's Seeds is based in Iowa and presents many of the same items as Gurney's.
